Description

The storm GAEMI has caused flood and landslide in some provinces in Vietnam. It was reported that the incident has destroyed 505 houses, 260 hectares of rice and 2,300 hectares of crops. The total loss was around 1.6 million USD. Herewith some incidents reported by the local authority. Quang Ngai Province: - 1 injured due to flood - 30 damaged houses and schools in district of Tay Tra, Tra Bong, Son Tay and Tu Nghia - Landslide in district of Son Tay and Tra Bong, leaving soil and rock material with the volume of 10,000 m3 Quang Nam and Dak Lak Province: - 2 fatalities due to flasflood - 2 destroyed bridges, 490 houses submerged and 1,800 hectare of crops submerged in Ea H‘el district Phu Yen Province: - Route of Thanh Duc-Go Oi, Xuan Lanh-Lang Dong, Phu Loi-Phu Hai, Ky Du-Tra On got eroded - Landslide on Ky Lo riverside - Suoi Re embankment (Tuy An district) and Bach Dang embankment (Tuy Hoa city) were destroyed. Consequently, thousand hectares of crop land and hundred hectares of shrimp pond were inundated. - The local Commanding Committes for Disaster Prevention, Searching and Rescuing estimated that the loss was around 280,000 USD.
